Doctrine
1. The Triune God
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three equally divine Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, who know, love, and glorify one another. This one true and living God is infinitely perfect both in his love and in his holiness. We deny that the Trinity can be understood in merely economic or functional categories (e.g. modalism, etc.)
2. God's Revelation
The Bible, the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, is inspired by God and is therefore our ultimate and final authority for all matters of faith and practice.
3. Creation
The Triune God created the heavens and the earth and declared his creation to be good.
4. Sin
All humans have sinned and live with a sin nature, which prevents them from rendering pleasing obedience to God on their own.
5. Humanity
All humans, though marred by sin, bear God’s image and are therefore worthy of dignity and honor.
6. Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary and was both fully God and fully man. Jesus lived a sinless life, taught about the kingdom of God and how God wants us to live in this life. He died on the cross for the sins of the world, was physically raised from the dead on the third day by the power of the Spirit, and lives today at the right hand of the Father.
7. Salvation
If anyone desires forgiveness of their sins, they must repent of their sins, believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died for their sins, rose physically on the third day, and they will be forgiven. All those who are truly born again will seek to live out the teachings of Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit, summarized by the two greatest commandments: 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind' and 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'
8. The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, who is co-equal with the Father and Son. The Holy Spirit is sent by the Father and Son to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and to convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgment. The Holy Spirit indwells, guides, instructs, equips, convicts and empowers believers for Christ-like living and service.
9. The Church
We believe that the universal church is the body of Christ, manifest in local churches of which Christ is the only Head. The church is distinguished by her gospel message, her sacred ordinances – baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Her discipline, her great mission, and, above all, by her love of God, and by her members’ love for one another and for the world.
10. The Restoration of All Things
We believe in the personal, glorious, and bodily return of our Lord Jesus Christ to usher in his final and perfect kingdom on earth. We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the just and the unjust. On that day Jesus will judge all humans – the unjust and the just. The unjust (all who haven’t repented in faith of their sin and believed in faith the gospel) will face an irreversible punishment for their sin and rejection of God. The just (all who have repented in faith of their sin and believed in faith the gospel) will enjoy eternal blessedness with the Triune God in the new heaven and the new earth, the home of righteousness.
Our Statement of Faith expresses the core beliefs that ground and guide our fellowship as the body of Christ. Rooted in the teachings of the Bible, these truths shape our lives, worship, and mission as followers of Jesus Christ. We invite you to explore these beliefs, which reflect our commitment to a life of faith, love, and hope.
